The posting of teaching content
into the Standard Edition of the LBD LearningRoom or MeetingRoom is simplified for the instructor so that entire URL's
do not have to be written or copied into the Text Message box. The
teaching content is designed to:
A. occur in the Main Room only, or
B. occur in all rooms including breakout rooms. (This allows the instructor to communicate content, and
control the flow of activities while participants are in their small group breakout
rooms.)
This process is designed as follows:
-
A key phrase is typed into the Text Message
box..
-
This key phrase points to a text file which resides in a
special directory designated as such by the Room
Administrator using the Control Panel.
-
The contents of the text file can be either
HTML or text. The file is uploaded to the special directory by the instructor using their Content
Manager.
-
When the key phrase is written into the
Text Message box, the server software substitutes the contents of the text file as the posted message. The instructor can then prepare an entire lecture and
present it in the LBD LearningRoom or MeetingRoom with only a few
keystrokes, a "page" at a time.
-
When the instructor posts content using this system, a thumbnail
representing the content of the post is attached to a file which appears on the
upper right-hand corner of the screen in the LBD LearningRoom. This
thumbnail is a pointer to the contents of the text file, and when
clicked on, the contents are viewed as resolved HTML in a pop-up window.
This allows the participant to have easy access to all previously posted
teaching content during a session of the LBD ClassRoom or LBD MeetingRoom.
