LBD Learning Room beta version

We train instructors and facilitators to use insights into group dynamics to guide the sessions so that participants achieve their goals. These skills are useful for courses, business meetings, social support groups, technical task forces, political bodies, psychotherapy and life style coaching.

Participants use a web browser to attend sessions. They connect through a web server running the LBD Environment. Inside the LBD Environment are learning rooms, meeting rooms and offices. During a session, they move from one space to another to accomplish different tasks.

The learning comes from the interaction of the participants. This occurs in plenary meetings in the learning room and in task groups and committees who assemble in meeting rooms and offices.

For each session, there is a plan in the form of an M&M Module (named after the founders of Learning By Doing). Learning By Doing can train you to create M&M Modules. LBD provides consulting services to help you through the process or create M&M Modules tailored for your project.

In the LBD Environment there are tools to measure the interactions of the participants and to view the data.

Our research has shown that online meetings can make a more efficient use of the participants’ time than face to face meetings. We have taught the art of organizing both types of meetings and have been able to compare.

LBD Methods have been used in courses at Concordia University such as "Working in Task Groups," and  "Interpersonal Communications and Relationships".
