Getting Started

Viewing Messages

The Talk/Listen button in the control area at the bottom of the page causes the page to refresh. The new page has all the most recent messages. The old messages go off the page. (Do not use the back button of your browser to scroll back.) To scroll back, type a number of messages into the field labeled ‘Scroll back #’ and click Talk/Listen again.

Composing Messages

You can select the recipient. By default a message is public. Click the ‘Public’ button to select the recipient. Messages contain text but the text is interpreted as HTML.

You can include a picture in your message by inserting the URL of a .gif or .jpeg file.
If another type of URL is included, when the message is viewed, it will be a link that viewers can follow to see web site.

Any HTLM tag can be included in the text.
For example “make that <I>italics</> “ will set a word in italics.

Your Picture

You can have your picture appear with each message. Upload your picture file using the Content Manager. If you already have a picture on a web page somewhere, you can link to that one.

Enter the URL of the picture into the field. After URL, you can specify dimensions. For example:

http://learningbydoing.net/meeting/BeBee/Diagram.jpg height=106 width=109

Note that the specifications must be separated by a space. There should be no spaces before and after the equals sign.

Instead of specifying height and width, you can check the ShrinkPic box and get your picutre to show about half size.

Customizing Your Appearance

You can set the size and color of the type that will be used to display your messages. Use the buttons below the text fields.

From Room to Room

The links near the bottom are used during the session so that participants may move from room to room.
